I was asked to share more of our music and original compositions:
A great example is COSTA! We recorded the song and video of "Costa" in the town of El Carmen de Viboral during the summer of 2020, when there was still a partial lockdown.
The song is based on a bullerengue rhythm from the Colombian Caribbean coast, and was composed by Profe Dario Eraso and by Andrés Felipe “Gugy” Muñoz. In the video Gugy is also singing the lead vocals which he composed.
Gugy is one of the talented students of the project who started learning guitar and trumpet through our project in 2012 at 12 years old. He’s now 21, and on his way to become a musician and music teacher as well. However the last year has been especially hard for him as he was struggling with mental issues during mandatory military service, which in Colombia you can only buy your way out of. This song is about always having hope for a better future, despite all the setbacks in life.
